Day 119

So here we are at 17 weeks, a turnip, 5 inches long (crown to rump) and 5 ounces heavy. Over the past week I have officially felt the kid move and it was so cool. Tyler doesn't want me to tell him when it's moving because he can't feel it yet so I'm cooperating, kinda :). The hardest thing so far is finding a way to sleep. I usually sleep on my stomach but that is out, I like laying flat on my back while reading and that is also out. I'm tempted to go buy one of those inner tubes that the kids use while swimming so I can put my stomach in there.

Since I am a side sleeper sleeping was not much of a problem until about 32 or 33 weeks or so. Try your side though with a pillow between your knees. Might help. Not a very cute turnip. I liked the avocado better. Look so forward your weekly posts. MOVEMENT! Truly exciting! Love ya and see you soon!

Fun! It is so exciting when you first start feeling movement. So you don't have to listen to me, especially if your doctor has told you otherwise, but I was having a hard time sleeping as well and I mentioned to my doctor the "no sleeping on your back thing" and she said that you only really have to worry about that at the very end of the pregnancy. She also said that your body will tell you when you need to move from lying on your back. I've found this to be completely true. I also agree with your mom about the pillow between the legs. Helps a lot.

I have to put a plug in for the pillow thing too - my favorite was sleeping on my side with a big body pillow and wrapping one leg around it. HOW FUN TO FEEL MOVEMENT!!! That is always so wonderful.
