On Tuesday we, along with a couple of friends from Tyler's work, went to McCall for their annual Winter Festival. McCall is the cutest little town. For you California folk it's a lot like Big Bear or Arrowhead. During the 2 hour drive up, we rocked out to the Grease Soundtrack, New Kids on the Block, and a few other oldies but goodies.
One of the things they do is they have these spectacular snow sculptures. There were 34 this year and we were able to find almost all of them. They ranged in size to the two that are pictured here to a six foot tall fire hydrant in front of the fire station.
This sculpture was AMAZING. It was the Grand Prize winner. The first thing we saw was the top of this castle, over the top of the building it was built next to.

Oh my gosh, you went to the ice festival?!?! (when I ask you how you are, what you've been up to, that would be a good thing to mention!) How awesome was that?! We loved it when we went - and the kids love the orange flag thing!! :) I love McCall!!
I was very impressed by the pictures, but like with most things, I am sure they do not do them justice. Do they do their sculptures wherever and then truck them in? They are spectacular! If I had to do a sculpture though, I, being inexperienced with cold and stuff, would rather do a sand sculpture! McCall sounds great! The crossing the street thing is so practical and I am impressed that the orange flags don't get stolen!!
Oh man! They had those orange flag things in Rexburg, too! They made me laugh. I actually had a sweater once that was almost the exact same color. Seriously. No joke. Would I lie about something like that? Of course not. ;)
You went to McCall???!!!! You guys rock! True Boisians.
